The preparation is very easy and quick. Only marinating the meat takes some time.
The fried rice is perfect for using up the leftover rice from the day before. Because this dish works best with cold rice.
Then the rice no longer sticks and can be mixed more easily with the vegetables and meat. You can of course also cook the rice fresh, but then you have to let it cool down before you put it in the pan.
What ingredients do I need for Asian rice with vegetables and chicken?
You can take the vegetables of your choice to make Fried Rice. I used red peppers, carrots, mushrooms, and spring onions.
I really liked this combination. You need this for my recipe:
- 200 g long grain rice
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp oil
For the meat:
- 500 chicken fillet or chicken breast, turkey, beef, or pork is of course also possible
For the marinade:
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 4 cloves of garlic
- 3 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- Some salt and pepper
- Chilli powder to taste (can also be omitted)
- 1 tbsp neutral oil
- 1 red pepper
- 150 g mushrooms
- 1 large carrot
- 1 onion
- 2-3 tablespoons of heat-resistant oil, for example sunflower oil, safflower, or rapeseed oil
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- Some salt, pepper, and chili powder
- 3 spring onions
For the egg:
- 2 eggs
- A little salt, pepper, and chili powder as needed
- 1 tbsp oil
How do you make fried Asian rice with vegetables and chicken?
Marinate the meat:
For this dish, the meat is marinated first, then it can steep while you prepare the vegetables to make Fried Rice. For the marinade, simply stir all the ingredients together in a bowl as described in the recipe card and add the finely chopped meat to make Fried Rice.
While the meat is making friends with the marinade, you clean the vegetables to make Fried Rice.
After you’ve cleaned and chopped the vegetables, you can start cooking.
You cook your rice in a separate pot to make Fried Rice. If you need instructions on how to do this, you will find them a little further down in the post to make Fried Rice.
Then you heat a pan with oil and add the vegetables to the pan one after the other. Depending on which vegetables you use, you should always start with the vegetables that take the longest. I steam the carrots first. Then the peppers are added. Next are the onions and mushrooms, and finally the spring onions.
When the vegetables are seared, season them and then set them aside.
Tip: I use salt, pepper, and chili powder in this recipe. Everyone has these spices in the house to make Fried Rice. An insider tip from me is to use the Asian five-spice powder in addition. I add 1/2 teaspoon of this to the vegetables to make Fried Rice. I love it! If this spice is on your spice rack, be sure to give it a try.
Fry the meat:
Next, fry the marinated meat in portions in the same pan.
You also put the meat aside so that you can make the scrambled eggs in the pan.
Make scrambled eggs:
To do this, put the eggs in a bowl, season the egg with a pinch of salt and pepper (chili if necessary) and then whisk it with a whisk to make Fried Rice.
Heat the pan again and add 1 tablespoon of oil to the hot pan to make Fried Rice. Pour the eggs into the pan, let them set briefly, and then stir.
By the way, you can also leave out the scrambled eggs, the rice tastes great even without the egg.
And when the scrambled eggs are ready, everything comes together.
Mix everything together:
You add the rice with a little oil and soy sauce to the scrambled eggs and stir-fry the rice.
Then you add the vegetables and meat and mix everything together, preferably with a large wooden spoon or spatula. Bon Appetit.
